Why I Keep Writing, Even When Fear Shows Up
Faith over Fear
First of all, this song helps and his entire album.
You’re On Your Way by Deraj Global
Second of all, if you aren't sure if it's fear talking, here's what fear does:
- Swallows dreams
- Immobilizes people
- Steals inner peace
- Creates frantic over thinking
- Has elaborate stories about all the reasons not to have faith
Here's what Faith does:
- Trusts in something unseen
- Leans into a magical force that creates beauty amidst the struggle
- Says there’s a bigger plan
Faith whispers:
- You can do it
- You’re on you’re way
- Everything is going to be okay
- Keep going
- You’re on your way
Fear makes horrific promises that feel solid, real, and indefinite.
Faith promises anything is possible if you stay true to your heart, if you follow your unique passions and dreams.
41 days of writing with fear and faith
Right now I’m on day 41 of writing my daily posts and as I get these 40 posts ready to be published I have a ridiculous amount of fear and doubt flooding my system.
I’ve been at this writing dream for awhile, 24 years to be exact, so I know what this is, it’s another layer of fear telling me all the reasons I won’t break through to become a successful author.
Only this time it’s different.
This time I have relentless faith.
That doesn’t mean I know how this will play out.
It’s hysterical and not lost on me that in a time when AI could write these posts in seconds, I am spending precious free time to writing them.
My mind says:
Why now?
When people’s inbox’s are flooded.
When everyone has a Substack.
When nobody reads blogs or newsletters?
I keep writing because it’s saving my life.
My dream is to be a successful author and I enjoy writing.
The only way I see this dream happening is to write everyday for awhile and produce and exorbitant amount of writing.
Maybe readers will notice this writer isn’t going anywhere?
Maybe readers will become a part of this journey with me?
Maybe readers will share posts that touch their hearts and lift them up?
Maybe the motivational person inside of me who wants to share love, peace, and joy with others will be felt in these words and something magical will happen?
Maybe not?
But there’s only one way to find out and it’s go for it. To have faith in a magical unseen force that is carrying us all through these impossibly difficult life changing times in history.
Love always,
Danielle Mallett
