Hi, I’m Danielle

A Functional Movement Coach, Author, & Mom. I encourage clients to get well by using the right combination of strength, flexibility, mobility, and relaxation.

I used to think “fitness” was a scam to get people’s money and make them feel bad about their bodies.

You know what I mean—the before and after photos that show your current body as the before. What’s wrong with your curves staying the way they are? Nothing!

For over a decade, I tried to avoid strength training and did everything I could to stretch and massage away my reoccurring neck and low back pain.

Then I gave up the belief that a personal trainer had to look ripped from head to toe and I learned that strength training is exactly what I needed to heal. It’s also what my clients needed. But, the idea of weight training was daunting, where do you even start?

In the beginning I thought if I got flexible enough my pain would go away, but the truth is I needed a balance of strength, flexibility, mobility, and relaxation. What good is a strong and flexible body if you can’t relax at the end of the day? My mental health is as important to me as my physical health so I can show up as the best version of myself to support my clients in achieving their fitness goals.

Once you realize what kind of training you need to get out of pain, there is no looking back. That’s why I love breaking down effective ways to help your body feel better, to help you age with grace, and to give you the maintenance needed to thrive.

My Story

For fifteen years I didn’t feel comfortable in my body. I felt like I wasn’t getting better at yoga because I kept hurting myself. Later I found I had hyper mobile joints and weak muscles, which no amount of stretching will help. I needed weight training, but I hated the gym. I also hated to sweat and my coordination and balance were awful.

The list of excuses I had for not wanting to move my body was extensive. But I fought against them and kept finding teachers to help me.

What if the voice inside your head decided to ignore every excuse and replace it with the support of a Functional Movement coach.

I get it. Two of the top reasons I didn’t want to move was because I had reoccurring neck and low back pain. There’s nothing like taking steps toward helping yourself and feeling like crap. It took years of searching for me to find all the tools I now share with my clients and in my book, Empowered Choices: A Guide to Healing Head & Neck Pain.

These days, I lift weights, dance, hike, chase after my very active 2 year old son, practice yoga, and coach clients to move regularly. I feel good and I know what to do if my body is in pain. What works for you? What doesn’t work? What fitness routine will support you the most? I can help you answer these questions by supporting your unique needs.
