30 day workouts for 30 minutes
BODI - Fitness & nutrition - At home & on the go
I have been using the beach body app for a couple of years not, off and on.
In December I started a 30 day Dig Deeper challenge in the beach body ap0. I am loving this app because I get encouragement to move and motivation to do new moves. As someone who trains other people all week it’s nice to have someone tell me what to do.
Here are some things I learned about 30 minute workouts with high intensity intervals.
I need to eat enough food to maintain my energy levels.
If I don’t sleep well I am drained after my workouts, this seems obvious, but it wasn’t until a friend pointed it out.
30 minutes a day isn’t as hard as I thought it would be, but adapting from the program is important and necessary when joints start to feel inflamed, or I feel worn out.
Eating a banana and nut butter before my workouts drastically changed my energy level throughout the rest of the day.
I am working out to feel good and strong in my body, not to impress anyone or to look a certain way. Although looking a certain way is a positive side affect of staying consistent.
I am sharing this to remind you that even people who teach movement for a living need motivation to move.
There are many days I don’t want to do it, but I know after 5-10 minutes I will feel different.
Some days I stretch a little more or practice more mobility exercises.
Some days I do intense workouts.
Some days I do slow intentional weight lifting.
Some days I dance around and play with my kids.
What matters is that you move your body.
Bodies were made to move, not be sedentary.
They also need to rest and sometimes a good foam rolling session is just what I need.
I hope this week you prioritize caring for your body in whatever way feels good to you.
Just remember movement can feel good, it doesn’t have to suck, and getting stronger can decrease pain and discomfort.
That doesn’t mean working out isn’t uncomfortable.
You have to get uncomfortable sometimes for positive change.
You matter.
Your body matters.
Your mental health matters.
Take care of it.
Take care of you.
Move your body.
Love Always,
Danielle Mallett
