Why I Started This Daily Blog

I started this daily blog to answer a few questions to myself:

#1. Can I stick with a writing practice daily and write to others, not just myself?

#2. Can I be genuine & share vulnerably?

#3. Can I share all of the books, podcasts, and information I’m ingesting in a short post to share with others?

#4. Can I get 30-50 days ahead of myself so that posting daily becomes easy?

So far I have answered most of these questions with the exception of if any of this will make posting daily easy.

I’ll share my findings after doing this for a few months. Hopefully I can stick with it and still finish my book, Mom Magic or Mom Life Be Like…I still haven't fallen in love with the title. Tell me what you think, I'd love your feedback!

Right now I don’t want to work on my book because it’s summer and I’m in full time mom land. I had hoped to finish it, but I now know finishing a book isn’t the hard part.

It’s the getting the book out there that’s the hard part. So who knows maybe I’ll write this blog for a few months, see if it reaches any mom readers out there, see if I can connect to my readership through writing, wouldn't that be magical!!!

Then I’ll wave my magic wand, ask for help with the design, with the final edits, and I'll finish it up.

Somewhere in between I’ll use figure out a way to write proposals to podcasts and I’ll line up a podcast book tour. You know with all the free time I have raising children, working part-time, and maintaining a home.

This might take me a few months, probably longer than a year, but in the meantime I’ll be:

  • present with my kids

  • present with my husband

  • learning about what it takes to blog daily

  • sharing things I’m leaning along the way

  • designing the book art

  • practicing Duolingo with my son to learn Spanish

  • sticking to my 3-5 day a week workout routine

  • keeping up with dishes, laundry, and cleaning while enjoying various podcasts and audiobooks I'll be sharing here. Currently listening to @Shannonwatts Fired up, more on that soon!

  • playing with my kids

  • protecting my mental health from too much news and social media

  • gathering with community every chance I get to talk about what's happening in our country, to come up with solutions, and to enjoy our time on this earth

  • living my life slow and intentional and trusting there is some kind of magic out there that might connect me to the right people at the right time

  • finding someone to help me edit my book and get it set up for a book tour

I know this sounds like a lot, but a little bit of all of the above adds up to a lot in the long run.

Love always,

Danielle Mallett
