Stillness in a Noisy World
It’s okay to not listen to the news every single day.
It’s okay to step out of overwhelm and fear.
In fact it’s necessary.
When you stop noticing laughter, stillness, and the warmth of a summer morning because you’re consumed with fear, negative news, and being busy, it’s time to unplug.
The scary news will still be there.
The greed, the betrayal of leadership, the inequality,
it will still be there.
If we’re being honest it will likely be there until the day we die. There’s some relief in admitting this and utter devastation.
All any of us who feel heartbroken can do is move the needle a tiny bit in the direction of love, kindness, and equality.
This world
In a world
That tells you to
Be busy, try being still.
Here’s a meditation for you.
Bonus if you have head or neck pain this is my go to meditation.
In a world that tells you there are too many problems that are unsolvable and feeds fear and hopelessness— search for hope, love, and faith.
In a world that threatens to swallow your joy, laughter, and humanness—-take moments of pause to feel what’s important.
Hug the people you love.
Treat your body with kindness.
Listen to the birds and be reminded of the blessings in your life that have given you another day on this earth to move the needle a tiny bit in the direction of love, kindness, and equality.
Love always,
