Excitement vs Fear
Have you noticed that when you start a new adventure, you feel both excited and scared?
Fear.
Fear likes to come in and tell you all the ways it won’t work out. Everything that could go wrong.
Fear likes to convince you to get control of the uncontrollable.
Excitement.
Excitement and faith say to trust the unknown. To trust the mysterious source that pulls things and people together.
Faith says it has a greater plan—something you can’t even see yet, and no amount of control will take you to that dream; only trust in the unknown.
Eeekkkk fear seems more rational, but it steals the joy and the mystery.
All of this to say I am taking little steps toward a big dream.
Big Dream
To run a gym with strong, fierce, and kind women.
To build a space for clients to feel supported, encouraged, motivated, and connected.
To nurture a space that lifts people up.
To build a community of people caring for their bodies and each other.
To have a safe space to move our bodies in strong and flexible ways with children and moms.
To fill this space with plants and nature.
That might sound random, but hear me out.
Plants have been bringing my anxious heart a lot of joy recently.
Bringing nature inside feels healing and grounding, and it reminds me to slow down and be present.
I encourage you to bring a plant inside too.
If you’re local and looking for a pothos starter plant, let me know. I have a few.
There is something healing about taking care of a plant and learning how much water and light it needs.
If you want to start with something that is hard to kill, get a succulent. I have some of those too if you're at local nurseries in the Monterey area.
Stay tuned to see if all the pieces come together for this Dream Community Gym.
It’s been two months in the making, and it has the potential to be a beautiful space for healing and feeling strong together.
Love Always,
Danielle Mallett
